I am so excited to share with you my short film about Romany Lady from Kazimierz as part of the Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow 2023!
The realization of this project was possible thanks to the amazing workshops run by the Pedagogical University of Krakow called Kaz_Lab.
The experience was extremely rewarding for me and I am proud to be able to bring this story of an interesting woman living in one of Europe's most vibrant cities to the screen.
The Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow will certainly be an unforgettable event this year; I hope my contribution will make it even more special!

I worked in ‘Les Couleurs Cafe’ up to 2015. It was then, in my last year or so, when a Romany
woman started coming over every day from Monday to Friday. As far as I remember her
name was Rita, but everbody kept calling her ‘the Romany Lady’. She was a very short,
elderly woman, who offered palm reading in return for money. At first everyone seemed
suspicious towards her. The management would show her the door every day; she even cast
a spell on our boss. However, she was so persistant that with time everyone got used to her,
including me. I started talking to her. Even now when we meet up in the street we talk, we
talk about children, about life…
